Drafting challenges with site layout plans

I’ve been working on a site layout plan for a new residential project, and I’m finding it tough to balance site drainage requirements with the client’s desire for maximum usable space. Does anyone have strategies or best practices for ensuring compliance with civil engineering standards while still keeping the design practical? I’ve been using AutoCAD for precision, but it’s a tricky situation.
