I still see temp brace lines and check dims parked on DEFPOINTS in AutoCAD because it won’t print; does anyone know the original reason that layer was made non-plotting? I avoid it on structural sheets — one misused layer and your shear wall holdown callouts vanish on a permit set, which is a real safety compliance problem?
It doesn’t plot because DEFPOINTS was made to hold the “dimension definition points” so old pen plotters wouldn’t pepper drawings with node marks. Safer move: create a dedicated -NPLT layer and QSELECT anything off DEFPOINTS so a stray lock/freeze doesn’t hide dims — treat DEFPOINTS like the office junk drawer. Do you have a standard non-plot layer everyone sticks to?
